You are cordially invited to the Open House Day of ABN AMRO’s Risk Management Department.

Are you finishing, or have just finished, your PhD studies and searching for a job outside of academia? Meet our employees who also made a career switch from academia and now work in a stimulating and challenging environment at ABN AMRO.
It is our great pleasure to announce ABN AMRO’s Risk Management Department Open House Day that we organise for PhD students. Our target audience is PhD students in their final year and recently graduated PhD students with background in mathematics, physics or engineering.

The event will be held on 14th December 2018 and on 17th January 2019 at the Head Office of ABN AMRO in Amsterdam.

The program will be split into two parts: a presentation session and a networking session including drinks. Our aim in organising this event is to get acquainted with PhD students but also to promote our bank to them with a view toward possible future job opportunities. We will ensure that there is an interesting program. The day will be interactive with plenty of opportunities for visitors to ask questions and talk to our team members.
Rapid developments in technology give ABN AMRO increased access to (digital) customer data, which provides us with a better understanding of our clients’ needs. It also helps us to design more innovative and more competitive services in the financial sector. The Risk Management department is the heart of the bank. It consists of two departments: Modelling and Model Validation. Within the Risk Management department we have teams that perform data-driven predictive models and our Open House Day event is focused on these activities. We work with many topics related to the increase of customer confidence, digitalisation and building good predictive data-driven models. To achieve this, Modelling and Model Validation teams focus on different mathematical and data- (big data) driven methods at ABN AMRO. For example, there are many aspects of the risk involved in our banking business that can be managed by data analytics, including market risk and credit risk. Additionally, we have exciting plans for the future and therefore we cherish the importance of surrounding innovations (such as digital signatures, blockchain, etc.). We offer a very challenging working environment as well as personal and professional development opportunities in different and broad categories of education. In this fast-growing data-driven modelling world, we are also expanding our Modelling and Model Validation teams that smart, self-driven, enthusiastic and social individuals are very welcome to join.
By attending this event, you will gain an overall picture of what we do and what we can offer you. We hope that opening our door to you will allow you to get a better feel for our working environment and the culture at ABN AMRO. You will find out what the company’s values are and whether your skills would be a good fit for them.

In order to apply, please send us your CV before 30 November 2018. We will assess your application and, depending on your potential suitability for our work environment, you will be selected to attend the event. We will let you know whether you have successfully booked a seat for this event by 7 December 2018 at the latest.
All additional information will be communicated to the selected candidates afterwards.
Please send your application to the contact email provided below. In case you have any questions, do not hesitate to give us a call or send an email.
